Kathmandu: The 21.93 MW Kabeli-3 Hydropower Project in Taplejung has reached its final stage of construction. The project aims to begin electricity production at the start of the month of mid March.

Construction work is progressing rapidly, and most of the structural work has already been completed, the project has stated. Once testing and technical preparations are complete, the project will be connected to the national transmission system.

After Kabeli-3 becomes operational, it is expected to provide additional electricity along with other operational hydropower projects based on the Kabeli River. This is anticipated to contribute to the national energy system as well as increase employment and economic activity at the local level.
