Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, held a meeting at the ministry with Scott Urbom, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim (A.I.) of the U.S. Embassy in Nepal.
According to the ministry, the meeting included detailed discussions on making Nepal–U.S. energy cooperation more effective and results-oriented. The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in areas such as clean energy development, hydropower generation, expansion of electricity transmission infrastructure, energy security, promotion of private and foreign investment, technical assistance, and capacity building.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation based on mutual interests and shared objectives, while prioritizing the sustainable development of Nepal’s energy sector. The ministry stated that the meeting concluded with confidence that Nepal–U.S. cooperation in the energy sector would reach new heights.
