Ankhu Hydropower Project achieves financial closure

    A consortium of banks led by Sunrise Bank Ltd has agreed to finance Ankhu Hydropower Project  on Ankhu River  in Dhading districts.

    Ankhu Hydro Power  (P) Ltd, the developer of the 42.9 megawatt (MW) project, and the consortium have signed loan deal .

    Bank of Kathmandu Limited, Century Commercial Bank Limited, Jyoti Bikash Bank Limited,Laxmi Bank Limited, NCC Bank Limited, Hydropower Investment and Development Company Limited, Prabhu Bank Limited are the member banks in the consortium.Consortium has committed Rs 4.7 billion for the project, which has total financing requirement of Rs 6.3 billion

    The developer had signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Nepal Electricity Authority in 12th May, 2016.

    Project is run of river type project located at Ree, Darkha and Jharlang VDCs of Dhading. It has design discharge of 24 m3/s, gross head of 215 m and installed capacity of 42.9 MW. The average annual energy generation of the project is 227GWh. The energy generated from the project is evacuated through a 25 km long 132 kV transmission line to NEA substation at Nuwakot.
