KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy Umakant Jha has said that the present government would give special attention to construction of small hydropower projects.
In a meeting with the Independent Power Developers Association Nepal at the Ministry on Friday, he said that the problem facing the energy sector should be addressed through mutual discussion.
Minister Jha said the power purchase rate could be reviewed, but discussion on the issue is essential.
President of the Association Dr Subarna Das Shrestha on the occasion submitted a 10-point memorandum including demands relating to adjustment of power purchase rate and agreement and project development agreement.
