Nobody should obstruct development work: PM Koirala

    Sushil-Koirala-New-Prime-MinisterPrime Minister Sushil Koirala has said that nobody should create any obstacle to development and construction works.

    In a meeting with a delegation from the Karnali Watershed Preservation Society at his official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Koirala said changing ideologies with the change in governments and thereby obstruction in development projects has stopped the country from accelerating ahead. 

    “The country will not move ahead if we are not able to produce and utilize hydropower”, he said while calling for the support of all in establishing peace and stability, prerequisite for foreign investors to invest in the country.

    During the meeting, the Society Chair Lok Bahadur Rawat emphasized that the Upper Karnali Project should be totally in the interest of Nepal and the Nepali people. 

    An agreement had been reached with the GMR Company of India on January 24, 2008 for the Upper Karnali Project located in the Karnali Watershed area.
