NEA supervisor arrested with kickback in Bhaktapur

    BHAKTAPUR: An employee of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) was arrested red-handed while he was accepting bribe from an electricity consumer in Bhaktapur district on Tuesday.

    The arrested has been identified as Bhagawan Sagar Bhail, a supervisor of fifth level in New Consumer  Section at the NEA branch Bhaktapur.

    Acting on the complaint from an electricity consumer, a team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) caught Bhail red-handed in the process of accepting Rs 11,000 cash as inducement.

    The CIAA had started the investigation on Bhail after he allegedly asked for the bribe to process the consumer’s request to upgrade the capacity of his electricity metre.

    The CIAA has taken Bhail into custody for investigations and the accused will be processed for legal action in accordance with The Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 (2002).
