
KATHMANDU, JUNE 24: Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has left for China to attend a ministerial-level energy meeting.
He departed on Monday night to participate in the 5th Energy Ministers’ Meeting being organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, China.
According to the Energy Minister’s Secretariat, the meeting will focus on energy development initiatives by various countries and future areas of cooperation. The meeting, which started on June 23, will continue until June 27.
Energy ministers from the host country China, along with India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan — totaling nine member countries, three observer countries, and 14 dialogue partners — are participating in the event.
On June 26, Minister Khadka is scheduled to deliver a statement during the opening session of a program titled “Integrated Innovation for Energy Future”. He will also take part in several meetings on the same day.
Additionally, on June 27, he is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting and discussion with the Administrator of China’s National Energy Administration, according to his secretariat.
