1,040 MW Electricity to Be Added to National Transmission Line Next Year

Kathmandu: The government has announced that 1,040 MW of electricity will be added to the national transmission system in the fiscal year 2026/27.

While presenting the budget in Parliament, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle stated that a total of 1,040 MW of electricity from hydropower and solar energy will be connected to the national transmission line in the coming fiscal year.

According to him, of the total addition, 670 MW will come from hydropower projects and 370 MW from solar energy.

With this increase, the government estimates that the total installed capacity connected to the national transmission system will reach 5,535 MW.
