September 21, Kathmandu. The government has decided to appoint Manoj Silwal as the Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority.
The government transferred the current Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, Hitendra Dev Shakya, to the Water and Energy Commission and decided to appoint the Authority’s former Deputy Managing Director, Manoj Silwal, to the position.
On March 24 of last year, the then Council of Ministers had removed Kulman Ghising, the Managing Director of the Authority, and appointed Shakya to the position.
Five months later, after Ghising became the Energy Minister, he transferred Shakya and had Silwal appointed to the post.
Silwal is considered one of the close associates of Kulman Ghising during his tenure as Managing Director at the Authority.
