Four-Hour Power Cut Announced in Kathmandu Valley on Saturday for Substation Upgrade Work

Kathmandu: Electricity supply will be disrupted for four hours on Saturday in nearly 100 locations across Kathmandu Valley, including parts of Kathmandu and Lalitpur.

According to a notice issued by the 132 kV Transmission Conductor Upgrading Project under the Nepal Electricity Authority, Matatirtha, power will be cut in areas served by the Kuleshwar, Kirtipur, Ratnapark, and Pulchowk distribution centers under the Syuchatar and Teku substations.

The outage will last from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday.

The notice states that a total of 98 locations will be affected—53 locations under the Kuleshwar distribution center, 11 in Kirtipur, 20 in Ratnapark, and 14 in Pulchowk.

The interruption is being carried out to facilitate maintenance and upgrading work by shutting down the 132 kV bus at the Syuchatar substation. Maintenance and upgrade works at the substation will also be conducted during this period.

The Nepal Electricity Authority has requested consumers to make necessary preparations and apologized for the inconvenience.
