Terhathum village suffers without electricity for past two days

Terhathum: An entire village in Terhathum is forced to suffer darkness for the past two days with a canal of a local hydropower project damaged by a local resident.

The village named Khamlalung in Aatharai rural municipality-2 that has got power disconnected houses around 200 families.

The 22 kilowatt Koyakhola Hydropower Project that was built in 2064 B.S. had been illuminating the village. However, a local resident damaged a canal of the project, approximately 10 meters long, saying water flowing through the canal that cuts through his land caused landslides.

Without any option left, they filed a complaint with Area Police Office at Sankrantibazaar demanding investigation into the case, said the project chairman Gopi Dhungana.
