Survey licences scrapped

KATHMANDU: As part of its action against sluggish work in hydropower projects, their failure to present progress reports and pay renewal fees on time, the Department of Electricity Development scrapped the survey licences of the 6-MW Upper Bagmati and 4.5-MW Upper Naugad on Friday. In recent months, the department has scrapped over two dozen survey licences awarded for feasibility studies and other preliminary works, saying the licences were awarded without evaluating the developers.
