Sikles Hydropower Reports Rs. 87.6 Million Profit from Electricity Sales, Strong Financial Performance

Kathmandu — Sikles Hydropower Limited has published the first-quarter financial report for fiscal year 2025/26. According to the report, the company has earned a net profit of Rs. 87,699,848.

The company has stated that its total income stood at Rs. 133,110,000. Of this, income from electricity sales amounted to Rs. 130,653,000, while an additional Rs. 450,000 was earned from other sources.

The operating expenses include royalty, project operation costs, and administrative expenses. The company’s first-quarter operating expenses reached Rs. 13,751,000. Of this, royalty amounted to Rs. 1,694,000; project operation costs were Rs. 3,076,000; and administrative expenses stood at Rs. 5,635,000.

The company’s paid-up share capital stands at Rs. 850 million, with reserves and surplus of Rs. 222.4 million, and long-term loans amounting to Rs. 963.5 million. The total assets have reached Rs. 2.0328 billion.

Electricity from Sikles Hydropower’s Madhyu Khola Hydropower Project has been supplied to the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Lekhnath substation through approximately 14 kilometers of 132 kV cable from the project’s switchyard. The project is operating at full capacity, and the electricity supply has been satisfactory.

The company has also published its share trading details. In the first quarter, the maximum share price reached Rs. 1,175.41, the minimum was Rs. 613, and the closing price stood at Rs. 613. There were 51 trading days, with a total transaction amount of Rs. 702,865,272. The company’s earnings per share (EPS) was Rs. 41.27, indicating that the company’s financial indicators are excellent.

The challenges the company faces include natural disasters such as floods and landslides. The company has stated that a decrease in river water flow could affect electricity generation.
