Kathmandu — The Millennium Challenge Account Nepal Development Committee (MCA-Nepal) has signed the construction agreement for a 117-kilometer section of the electricity transmission line under the MCC Nepal Compact’s electricity transmission project. With this, all agreements related to the construction of the 315-kilometer electricity transmission line to be built under the MCC Nepal Compact have been completed.
MCA claims that this is important in the context of Compact implementation. It is stated that the Ashish-Bozlar Joint Venture will construct the 117-kilometer transmission line from the under-construction Lapsiphedi substation in Kathmandu, through the under-construction Ratmate substation in Nuwakot, to the under-construction New Hetauda substation in Makwanpur.
Through an international competitive procurement process, MCA-Nepal awarded the contract worth about USD 76.65 million. Under this agreement, the design, installation, testing, and operation of the 400 kV transmission line will be carried out. On Friday, MCA-Nepal’s Managing Director Khadga Bahadur Bista and Nirman Gauli, representing the Ashish-Bozlar Joint Venture, signed the agreement in the presence of MCC and MCA-Nepal officials during a ceremony.
