Landslide Damages Samundratar–Trishuli 3B 132 kV Transmission Tower

Kathmandu – Tower No. 41 of the Samundratar–Trishuli 3B 132 kV transmission line has been damaged after a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall.

The damage to the tower has affected the operation of the transmission line.

As a result, power evacuation from the 11 MW Suryakunda Hydropower Project and the 5 MW Buddhabhumi Hydropower Project, both connected to the national grid through the same transmission line, has been disrupted.

However, despite the problem with the transmission line, electricity supply to consumers will not be interrupted.

The technical team has arranged an alternative power supply through the Chaughada Substation, ensuring uninterrupted electricity service to customers.

Authorities said that repair and reinforcement work on the damaged transmission tower will begin as soon as possible.
