Kathmandu. The Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN) has expressed its commitment to cooperate and move forward together with the new interim government in the energy sector. Extending warm congratulations to Sushila Karki on her appointment as the Prime Minister of Nepal’s interim government following the Gen-Z youth movement, IPPAN has stated its readiness to collaborate.
Expressing happiness over the appointment of Karki—who has already completed her tenure as Chief Justice—as the first woman Prime Minister in Nepal’s history, IPPAN said it believes that national prosperity can be achieved through the energy sector, which is considered essential for every field. With this strong conviction, it expressed the hope that Karki’s tenure will be a golden period for energy entrepreneurs who, despite various problems and challenges, have been investing in the sector.
IPPAN President Ganesh Karki said that, in the changed context, the new interim government is expected to encourage the private sector by creating an investment-friendly environment. He stated, “We expect the new interim government to create such an environment. In the current situation, along with the country’s reconstruction, we are ready to cooperate and move forward together with the Government of Nepal on the journey toward economic prosperity through increased investment.”
Chairman Karki said that the new interim government is expected to take the initiative in addressing the problems and challenges currently faced by energy entrepreneurs in the development and expansion of the energy sector. He added that the private sector has been contributing to energy security and is ready to contribute even more in the days to come.
