Geppert Hydro Awarded Electro-Mechanical Contract of Khimti–Ghyang Khola Project

Kathmandu. The electro-mechanical (EM) works of the Khimti–Ghyang Khola Hydropower Project, which is to be constructed in Dolakha and Ramechhap districts of Bagmati Province, will be carried out by the Indian company Geppert Hydro. Geppert has secured the contract for the design, manufacturing, supply, and installation of EM equipment for the 9-megawatt project that Wonders Energy Pvt. Ltd. is developing in the Gajryang area.

Geppert’s Country Director, Rajkishor Yadav, informed that a contract agreement has been completed with the project’s promoter company, under which Geppert will take full responsibility for all the required electro-mechanical equipment. According to him, in addition to the Khimti–Ghyang Khola project, Geppert is also carrying out the electro-mechanical works of the Fedi Khola Hydropower Project, which is currently under construction by the same group.

So far, Geppert has undertaken the electro-mechanical contracts of 19 hydropower projects in Nepal. Among them, 9 projects have already come into operation, while the remaining 10 projects are under construction at various stages. Having worked in the manufacturing, supply, and installation of hydropower equipment in more than 40 countries worldwide, Geppert has extensive experience in this field.

According to the study, once the project is completed, it will generate 50.07 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually. The electricity produced by the project will be connected to the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Garjang Substation through a 33 kV transmission line.
