Kathmandu, April 25: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava met Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha on Friday.
In the meeting held separately, Chinese Ambassador discussed with the Energy Minister a range of matters aimed at advancing mutually beneficial practical cooperation. They also exchanged views on how to cope with the current regional energy challenges.
In addition, a commitment has been expressed to cooperate and collaborate for common prosperity and public interest by promoting the energy and water resources sectors as an important basis for mutual cooperation.
Similarly, in the meeting with the Indian ambassador, both sides engaged in fruitful exchanges on areas of mutual interest, particularly in strengthening cooperation in the energy and water resources sectors. Discussions underscored the longstanding partnership between Nepal and India, and the shared vision of advancing sustainable development and regional connectivity.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration and fostering greater synergy to ensure shared prosperity and mutual benefit for the people of both nations.
The Energy Ministry has said it looks forward to further strengthening this partnership through continued dialogue and cooperation.
