Kathmandu — The Department of Electricity Development (DoED) under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has canceled the survey license application for the Sankhuwa Small Hydropower Project. The department scrapped the application submitted by Hydro Hills Pvt. Ltd. for the project’s survey permit.
The company had registered the application with the department on November 6, 2025, for the proposed 4.98 MW project. According to the department, the proposed Sankhuwa Small Hydropower Project was canceled because it conflicted with another larger project.
The department stated that the project was found to overlap with the 40.8 MW Sankhuwa Khola-1 Hydropower Project in terms of both water source and physical structures.
The application was canceled in accordance with Clause 11, Sub-clause (1), Section (a) of the Electricity Project Licensing Directive, 2018, the department said.
