A construction manager is required for a 2 year assignment to be based in Nepal working on a Hydropower project currently under construction.
The tasks of the Construction Manager shall be as follows:
The Construction Manager reports to the Project Manager and has direct line responsibility for the management and administration of certain contracts. They are responsible for all aspects of construction management on the project, including constructability reviews, coordination of work of the different contractors, inspection and quality assurance, environmental protection and monitoring, monitoring the performance and progress of the contractors, certification of progress payments, claims avoidance and resolution, change order negotiation and preparation, and approval of completed work. They will schedule and conduct progress and coordination meetings with the contractors.
- The Construction Manager should have minimum a graduate degree in Civil Engineering and preferably a master’s degree in the field of Hydropower Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Management or Water Resources or Structural Engineering.
- A minimum 15 years’ experience and preferably 10 years of specific experience in the field of project management, design and construction supervision of hydropower and/or water resources projects involving major underground work, rock tunnels, tunnel linings, intakes and related structures.
- They should preferably have an experience as a Senior Manager in detailed design and/or construction Supervision of hydropower projects of minimum capacity of 100 MW.
The financial conditions would be as follows:
- Monthly basic salary: 15,000 USD NET (local Tax’s)
- Per diem: 40 USD
- Free accommodation and local transport,
- 3 x Economy return flights per year.
- Contract: Freelance Contract, i.e. insurances, social contributions, taxes in the freelancer’s residence country, etc. are the business of the freelancer.
