Bajhang-Banlek 400kV Transmission Line Construction Set to Advance

Kathmandu, Aug. 6: The National Transmission Grid Company Limited has initiated processes for the construction of the Bajhang-Banlek (West Seti) power transmission line for the supply of 2,500 megawatts of electricity.

The 400kv transmission line will be 60 kilometres long from Chainpur Substation of Bajhang district to Banlek at Shikhar Municipality-10 in Doti district.

The Grid Company has lodged application at the Department of Electricity Development for the construction of the transmission line.

The Department should issue approval for the construction of the power grid as per clause (4) of Electricity Act, 2049. The project is expected to complete within five years after the project commencement.

Likewise, the Department has issued a public notice to offer feedback and suggestions on the proposed project.
