Kathmandu: The recommendation committee formed to appoint the Chairperson and Members of the Electricity Regulatory Commission has shortlisted 15 candidates. In the first phase of the selection process, six candidates have been shortlisted for the post of Chairperson and nine for Member positions, in line with the provision to appoint five office bearers, including one Chairperson, to the Commission.
According to the committee, the shortlisted candidates for the Chairperson position are Keshavdhwaj Adhikari (Lalitpur), Dr. Ram Prasad Dhital (Sindhupalchok), Madhu Prasad Bhetuwal (Kathmandu), Moti Bahadur Kunwar (Kathmandu), Dr. Madhusudan Adhikari (Kathmandu), and Dr. Bholanath Sharma Ghimire (Gorkha).
Similarly, the shortlisted candidates for Member positions are Nirjwal Basnet (Udayapur), Rudra Prasad Sitoula (Kathmandu), Jayaraj Bhandari (Kathmandu), Lokraj Pathak (Kathmandu), Balram Silwal (Dhading), Bigyan Prasad Shrestha (Kathmandu), Arjun Kumar Gautam (Bhaktapur), Narendra Singh Bhandari (Kathmandu), and Narayan Prasad Sapkota (Bharatpur).
The committee stated that candidates who secured 50 percent or more marks in the evaluation of their professional work plans were included in this stage of the selection process. From among the shortlisted candidates, the final recommendation process will select five office bearers, including the Chairperson, for appointment to the Commission.
